Step 1: Create Twilio Account
1. Visit Twilio Website
Go to twilio.com/try-twilio
💡 Tip: You'll get $15-20 in free credits to test the service before adding a payment method.
2. Fill Registration Form
- • First Name: Your first name
- • Last Name: Your last name
- • Email: Use a business email if possible
- • Password: Create a strong password
3. Verify Email & Phone
Twilio will send a verification code to your email and phone. Enter both codes to complete verification.
Step 2: Get Pakistani Phone Number
1. Navigate to Phone Numbers
In Twilio Console, go to: Phone Numbers → Manage → Buy a Number
2. Select Pakistan
- • Country: Select Pakistan (+92)
- • Number Type: Local
- • Capabilities: Check "Voice"
- • Click "Search"
3. Choose & Purchase Number
You'll see available Pakistani numbers. Choose one and click "Buy".
⚠️ Important: Make sure the number has "Voice" capability. SMS-only numbers won't work for verification calls.
Step 3: Get API Credentials
1. Find Your Credentials
Go to Console Dashboard. You'll see:

🔒 Security Warning: Never share your Auth Token publicly or commit it to GitHub. Treat it like a password.
Step 4: Connect to Shippley
1. Log in to Shippley
Go to your Shippley dashboard and navigate to Settings → Twilio Integration
2. Enter Credentials
3. Test Connection
Click "Test Connection". Shippley will make a test call to verify everything is working.
✅ Success! If the test passes, you're all set. Shippley will now use your Twilio account to verify orders.
Common Issues & Solutions
"No Pakistani numbers available"
Sometimes Twilio runs out of Pakistani numbers. Try again in a few hours, or contact Twilio support to request a number manually.
"Payment method declined"
Make sure your credit/debit card supports international payments. Pakistani banks sometimes block international transactions by default: call your bank to enable them.
"Test connection failed"
Double-check that you copied the Account SID and Auth Token correctly. Make sure there are no extra spaces. Also verify that your phone number includes the country code (+92).
"Calls not going through"
Check that your Twilio account has sufficient balance. Also make sure the phone number you purchased has "Voice" capability enabled.
